My name is Joe James, and I’m the founder of Excellence in Renovation. Since 1985, our mission has been to make homes and businesses both beautiful and functional. We specialize in all types of painting and wallcovering installation, and we’ve been recognized by D Home magazine as one of the top wallcovering installers in Dallas.
I grew up doing carpentry work and later studied Geology at Oklahoma State University, where I also played college football. In my third year of college, I began hanging wallcoverings and quickly discovered a passion for the craft. Over time, I expanded the business to include painting services in 2004, and by 2017, we were handling major renovations—most notably, a complete overhaul of a large ophthalmology clinic, completed in just eight weeks without disrupting a single patient visit.
Today, in addition to residential projects, I serve as a general contractor for commercial buildouts, helping entrepreneurs bring their business visions to life. We take great pride in our work and look forward to the opportunity to serve you.
